BTS Army held BTS MVAs to boycott the MTV VMAs

BTS Took home two awards on the MTV VMAs aired on Monday. BTS Made history by winning the inaugural award in K-Pop Category. They received the Best Group award and the Best K-pop award for their BTS X Halsey featured song, “Boy With Luv”.

BTS Army protested against MTV VMAs and held BTS MVAs on Twitter.

Although even after winning, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment stayed silent on social media and did not acknowledge the awards and nominations in MTV VMAs. But Fans made all the noise for them.

The category has been a controversial topic for BTS fans. BTS fans known as BTS Army argued that it’s xenophobic that k-pop is only nominated in the k-pop category. They raised the point that this kind of discrimination does not happen with other artists from other countries such as Canada and Australia.

The BTS Army found another way to Boycott the MTV VMAs as they held the BTS Music Video Awards (BTS MVAs) on twitter under the Trending hashtags: #BTSMVawards #BTSMVAs #BTSVMAs #PurpleCarpet #BTSMVAsAfterParty.

Fans believe that the reason BTS was nominated in a specific K-POP category was that otherwise BTS would have won in all categories, which might be true BTS is the second group after the Beatles to have 3 No. 1 albums in the span of 12 months.
