Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss are back for Matrix 4, confirmed Warner Bros.
Matrix 4 is officially confirmed returning with Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss as Neo and Trinity for its 4th installment.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss played the beloved characters Neo and Trinity in the previous three films of the Matrix series: The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions
Sources confirmed Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity in the new Sequel Matrix 4. Although there is no confirmation about who will be playing the role of Morpheus.
This year is the 20th anniversary of The Matrix Franchise. There will be special screenings marking the 20th anniversary, starting on August 30, at select AMC locations. The script for Matrix 4 will be co-written by Lana Wachowski, who previously also wrote the script for all matrix movies with her sister Lilly. Lilly will not be involved in the latest movie due to her other project. The screenplay will be co-written by Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, as per the reports.
The Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will be producing and distributing the movie globally. Warner was looking to re-enter the Matrix universe but due to some technical rights issues, the project kept delaying. They finally saw an opportunity after the big release of Keanu Reeves’s John Wick 3 among the studio’s other box office hits.
The production will be starting early in the year 2020, although the sources have not confirmed any date yet.
